How to write a new plumbing fixture / rough-in permit narrative
Fixture and rough-in permits live or die on specificity: which fixtures, what pipe, what size, and how the drainage and venting tie into the existing system. A reviewer who can trace your water and waste on paper approves faster.
What your narrative needs to include
- Each fixture being added (count and type)
- Supply pipe material and sizes (PEX, copper, CPVC)
- Drain/waste/vent changes: pipe material, sizes, and how new drains tie in
- Venting approach for new fixtures
- Water heater or pressure impacts if relevant
